The SWG portfolio (the "Portfolio") is a mix of combined cycle and
simple cycle combustion turbine and natural gas-fired General Electric
technologies totaling 974 megawatts (“MW”). The majority of the
capacity and energy generated by the Portfolio is sold under mid-to
long-term power purchase agreements (“PPAs”) and tolling
arrangements with high quality off-takers.
The seven generation facilities are as follows:
Colorado
The Arapahoe Facility is a 130 MW combined cycle, natural gas-fired,
intermediate facility with a PPA with Xcel Energy (“Public Service
Company of Colorado” or "PSCo") until 2012. The plant is located in
Denver, Colorado.
The Valmont Facility is an 80 MW simple cycle, natural gas-fired
peaking facility with a PPA with PSCo to 2012. The plant is located
in Boulder, Colorado.
The Fountain Valley Facility is a 240 MW simple cycle, natural gas-fired,
peaking facility with a PPA with PSCo to 2012. The plant is located near
Pueblo, Colorado. Adjacent to the Fountain Valley Facility is 145 vacant
acres of land for future development.
Nevada
The Las Vegas I Facility is a 53 MW combined cycle, natural gas-fired,
intermediate facility with a PPA (only for the “summer” months) with
Nevada Energy Ventures (“Nevada Power Corporation”) until 2016. The
plant is located in North Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Las Vegas II Facility is a 224 MW combined cycle, natural gas-fired,
intermediate facility with a PPA with Nevada Power Corporation until
2013. The plant is located is adjacent to the Las Vegas I Facility in
North Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Sunco Facility is a 500,000 square foot, natural ventilation
greenhouse on 18 acres of land.
New Mexico
The Valencia Facility is a 149 MW simple cycle, natural gas-fired,
peaking facility with a PPA with Public Service of New Mexico (“PNM”)
until 2027. The plant is located in Belen, New Mexico.
California
The Harbor Facility is a 98 MW combined cycle, natural gas-fired,
intermediate facility with a short-term marketing agreement with Shell.
In addition, Harbor has a resource adequacy (“RA”) agreement with
Edison International (“Southern California Edison”) starting in 2011
until 2013. The plant is located at the Port of Long Beach, California.
